Mt. Muhavura :
Mt. Muhavura , Also known as Mt. Muhabura ( meaning “the guide”) is
an extinct volcano in the Virunga mountains, third
highest of the eight major mountains of the Albertine
Rift.
The mountain is an eight to nine hours hike to the top,
those attempting to climb it should be physically t and
not allergic to cold environments.
Best time or month to hike this mountain is in January,
May, June, September and December as there is
minimal rainfall.
Mt. Sabinyo:
This hike can be completed in eight hours up hill
depending on ones physical energy and ability.
Make sure you have a camera to take pictures of the
beautiful panoramic views of Uganda, Rwanda and
Congo and also the various crater lakes on the moun-
tain.
Mt. Gahinga:
One of the eight Virunga mountains located in the Muga-
hinga national park which is home to one of our
Mountain gorilla family called “Nyakagezi”. It is also this
very mountain we nd the rare and endangered
primate golden monkeys. This hike lasts about four
hours, again depending on physical ability and strength.
